ACADEMICS

Home Instruction Schools is a diverse and inclusive community of lifelong learners and teachers working in conjunction with affiliated schools to provide students with a continuum of educational services with reduced loss of educational standing.

Social Studies

We provide a flexible multi-disciplinary approach aligned to the curricula provided by the student's school of affiliation. Social Studies classes encourage critical thinking about society, culture, history, and community.

Science

We teach Regents, middle school, elementary, and other science classes aligned to the student's school of affiliation. Students get frequent opportunities to explore important topics pertaining to science through an inquiry-based approach.

Math

Whether the student is taking foundational or advanced Regents mathematics, we target a deeper understanding of math at the level of the individual student while increasing the student's level of readiness.

Writing an Essay

Literature Arts

Reading and writing at all levels is a necessary skill for interacting with the world when school is done. Home Instruction focuses on developing key reading, writing, and communication skills aligned to the standards of the school of affiliation.

Elective courses

Elective courses are required for students to gain enough credits to graduate. Home Instruction teaches elective courses with the same fidelity that we teach the core courses.
